Notifications are not arriving
Check the conversation's setting, its channel and parent channel if present, your account default, then browser permission.

The most specific notification setting wins. A thread can inherit from its channel, a sub-channel can inherit from its parent channel, and a channel can inherit from your account default. Check each level from the message outward, then check the browser.
The row says Muted
The conversation is muted. Its unread count is suppressed and it is left out of the Unread view; the row may also read Muted; excluded from roll-up. Open the row's context menu, open Muted, and choose Unmute.
Muting never suppresses a mention of you by name, so if the row shows a number the mention did arrive.
The row says Notifications off
The conversation's own level is Nothing. Open Notifications on the row and choose All messages, Mentions, or the option to use your default level.
Only mentions arrive
Open Notifications on the conversation's row. If it uses the default, check the channel that holds the thread, then the parent channel if this is a sub-channel. One of them may be set to Mentions even when your account default is All messages. If neither has its own setting, check Spaces settings under Notifications for the account default. Change the setting at the level you want to affect.
Nothing arrives in any conversation
Your account default is Nothing: Do not notify me by default. Open Spaces settings, and under Notifications choose All messages or Mentions.
Browser notifications are blocked
Full text: Allow notifications for this site in your browser settings, then try again.
The browser refused the permission. Allow notifications for the site in the browser's own settings, then choose Try again.
Browser notifications are unavailable
Full text: We could not enable browser notifications. Check your connection and try again.
Registration failed rather than being refused. Choose Try again.
The prompt never came back
Stay in the know is offered once. Choosing Skip for now dismisses it and it does not return on its own for that signed-in browser profile. Review Browser notifications under Settings and Preferences, and check the site's notification permission in your browser.
Nothing from one particular person
You may have blocked them. Blocking hides their messages and suppresses notifications from them. Check Blocked people in Spaces settings and unblock them there if needed.
Nothing when you were named in a large channel
A mention reaches at most 50 members of a conversation. Above that, some named people are not notified. Ask the sender to name you directly rather than using a group mention.
We couldn't load notification preferences. Try again.
The settings could not be read, so what you see may not be what is stored. Choose Retry before changing anything.
